I had the same initial reaction to devLink as you did.  But at the proding of Mike Wood and the chance to meet some of the interesting people I only knew of from twitter, I decided to go... and take the bus.

I never knew Open Spaces like these before.  In the two conferences I had attended that also featured them, they were almost a side note.  Alan really made the devLink ones something special.  I think our community was finally introduced to Open Spaces the way they _should_ be.  It will be exciting to see how the CodeMash ones are going to grow from this experience.

...and the bus.  While it would have been nice to be home three hours earlier, I would not have given up the impromptu open space that formed outside the Waffle House for anything.  I believe things happen for a reason and our destiny was to be stranded in the middle of KY on a Sunday morning talking about what we are passionate about.
